MERRY CHRISTMAS

We had a Fun filled Christmas eve beginning with "The Nutcracker" at capital theater. My very talented niece Sarah Beverly Clements was a "buffoon" (one of the kids that come out from under the lady with the big dress)in the play. It was fun to see her and cheer as she came out of the dress (I am sure the people at Ballet West loved that. :)

We finished out the day by heading up to Grandpa Dick and Jeanne's in Park City, as we have for the past several years (I guess you would say it has become tradition). We spent the evening with them at their home with my sister Tracy and her Family, Amy (Jeanne's daughter), and Steve's Dad Wyatt, who came into town to spend the holidays with us. The kids always look forward to this night and are so excited when Santa comes in the door to visit them before he heads out on his very busy night. We had a wonderful time and it was so nice to not have to drive up or back in the snow.

Christmas morning was fun as always, I love to watch the excitement on my kids face's as the come sown the stairs. That moment makes all the ciaos of the season worth it and you can forget all about your adult responsibilities (at least for a moment). Family is the best part of the whole thing!!!!
We hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Season

We began our Christmas celebration with going to recitals. Madison has began to play the violin. She played a Christmas concert with her School. She is playing beautifully, though I am not sure how, considering she never practices!

Emma is taking piano lessons and got up by herself to play 3 Christmas songs in front of about 25 people. I was worried that she would not do it because the night before her recital we had a Party here at our home with my side of the family. My Aunt Lyn and Uncle Chuck brought presents for all the kids and told them that they could open them now or wait until Christmas. Of course they all tore into their gifts except for my little Emma who promptly put her gift under the tree and came to sit on my lap to tell me that she wanted to wait until Christmas. She sat on my lap and watched as everyone open presents and than went up to get ready for bed. As soon as everyone left she ran back to the tree and began to open her gift. I asked her why she changed her mind. She said "Mom I don't want to wait until Christmas, I just didn't want everyone watching me." Oh no I thought, you have your first Piano recital in the morning, this should be fun! Despite my fears and the hesitation she had as she sat down at the piano she pulled it off beautifully. Way to go Girls!

Well here is our new family blog...our only blog. I will get music up as soon as Maddie figures it out. Our family woke up late today so we didn't make it to church on time, so Steve and I went to a later session and dodged the kids. I wouldn't trade my kids for the world but I was amazed at how much more I got out of sacrament! I knew I went to church for a reason!

“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey … delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” President Gordon B. Hinckley

Thanks Tracy and Maddie!!!!

So I have to give credit where credit it due! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here at my house with Doug, Tracy and their kids and also Grandpa Dick and Jeannie. Before the night came to an end Tracy got a hold of my computer and did for me what I had been telling her I would do for sometime...create a blog! Well needless to say I did nothing until this weekend (actually Maddie did something). Maddie got on our blog and created the December back ground, helped me load pictures, and set up the whole layout by herself! When it comes to the internet and computers Maddie definitely surpasses my knowledge. She is Awesome!!!! Thanks guys for putting this together for me....I know you both know that I never would have done it with out a BIG push. Love you both!
